Maltitol is used as a sugar substitute. It has 75–90% of the sweetness of sucrose (table sugar) and nearly identical properties, except for browning. It is commonly used in sugar-free and low-sugar foods such as candies, chocolates, and baked goods.

How To Use
Use to sweeten the products. Soluble in cold, although dissolves better in hot. Suitable for diabetics. For food preparations use is limited. Excessive consumption may produce laxative effects.
